I made this photo from the livingroom window in 16. floor in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil in mai 2012. The view is breath taking, both at night and in the daytime where you can see out across the Atlantic ocean.

The boat in the photo is called a "Fembøring" which is a boat type used in Norway about 100 years ago to transport fish and other merchandises up and down the norwegian coast. With the modern bridge and the cars in the background its almost like past meets present time sorrounded by soft sunlight.

From the top of the hill "Strandheia" you get an amazing view of the whole region called "Vesterålen". Yes, you even can see down to the neigbour region "Lofoten", or at least the Lofoten mountains. This photo was taken the 19 of june 2011 and the happy girl on the beacon is Amanda Forsman.

At 06 in the morning I watched this beautiful sunrise from my livingroom window in Cartagena, Colombia in february 2007. The view is spectacular from 8. floor overlooking the lagune in Bocagrande and the Atlantic ocean. And if you watch closely to the right of the buildings above the sun you will see a flock of birds as small dots in the photo.

This photo is shot on the beach in Cartagena, Colombia in january 2011. Cartagena is a very nice little city with a beach, a nice old town and a great night life. Something the lifeguards of Pres. Obama found out in april 2011 ;)

In Cartagena, Colombia, in the "Bocagrande" region there is a new apartment hotel built of 2 towers, where you can rent a room for a day or longer time. During a stay there in january 2011 I made a few shots, there among this one from just between the 2 towers.

On a trip up the hills above Sortland, I walked a distance in the forest. And there, right in front of me, I saw the most beautiful sunrays penetrating the forest in a spectacular light. Soon after that moment was inside my camera.

On a trip to Luxor in Egypt I found this guy sitting outside one of the tempels of Luxor. I like this portrait because of its strong colors, contrast and the "right" light.

This photo is shot at night in a small fishermans village called "Nusfjord" in the Lofoten islands, in north of Norway. As you can see from the light on the walls, the nights are still bright even at the time this photo was taken - the 27 of august 2008. This photo is taken at the same time and place as the photo called "Nusfjord" and if you put the 2 photos together we get a panoramic photo.

"Nusfjord" is a wonderful small fisher village which is a popular destination among the tourists visiting the Lofoten islands. If you are in the region, this is a "must see" destination. The photo is taken 24 of august 2008, late summer at night, and even if this is past the midnigh sun period, the nights are still bright. So also this night. I placed the camera on a steady foundation and openend the camera shutter which is the reason why I got the vivid colors in the photo.

After a warm summerday in Vesterålen the air is cooled down during the nights. This often generate fog which is slowly comming in over land or across the sea creating a distinct mood in the quiet evenings. This photo is taken at "Frøskeland", just 15 minutes drive from Sortland (north of norway).

This is a photo showing how tiny we humans are against the mighty nature. The photo is taken in the Lofoten island in september 2006, a great spot for kayaking since you get very "close" to nature in this small vessel. In fact the tall mountains seems even taller when you are on the sea level looking up at them.

The light in the arctics can be fantastic, and come in every color. The theme color in the photo is cyan, and I am not not sure if its the clouds coloring the sea or visa verca. This photo is taken in the Lofoten island, north of norway. You see the atlantic ocean and the islands furthest to the west in the horisont.

This photo shows that even an old pier can be beautiful in the right angel and with the right light. The reflections in the water adds up the impression and give the image depth and a touch of something I dont have the right words for.

The cruice ship "Black Prince" was visting Vesterålen in the summer of 2006. The ship with the tall mountains in the background is a beautiful view, and hopefully the british tourists onboard felt the same. The ship had a short stop in Sortland before it went further north.

This photo is taken in the hills above Sortland, the region centre of Vesterålen - the city I come from in the north of Norway. I came across these sheeps and while getting closer I was whistling to them triggering their curiosity. And as you can see on the picture, they are "all ears" ;)

"The blue cat" is the translation of the text written on the blue wall; "Den blå katten". This building is part of the art project called "Blåbyen" (or in english "The blue city") initiated by the artist Bjørn Elvenes and the municipality of Sortland. You can read more about this art project on their website www.blabyen.com (created by me and my team of webdevelopers at www.webkonsepter.no). Writing poetry on the colored city walls is one of severals activites defining this project.

These 3 divers I found hanging on tight rope outside the Plaza hotel downtown Oslo. And no, its not real diverse, but sculptures placed in a real artistic way.

In Sigerfjorden outside Sortland (north of Norway) there is an old mansion which used to be a tuberkulose hospital decades ago, but has been restored to how it was originally and is a great place to visit if you are in the area. Outside this mansion there is a lighthouse with a fantastic view from the hiltop over spectacular nature, tall mountains and the deep fjord. The woman on the photo was visiting this place so I asked her if she could embraze the nature for the photographer. She accepted so I climbed up in a tree and made this shot. Must have been fun for her to watch how I was struggling climbing the tree just to get a better angel for the photo :p
Photography have been my passion for as long as I can remember. I started out with an old used camera in the '70s, advanced to Canon and more sophistacted gear, but discovered that its not the gear but how you use it that counts.
