What comes to mind when you hear the word DATA? The plural of Latin word datum? Matter of fact, yes, but more than that, it is a collection or a group of qualitative and/or quantitative attributes of variable or set of variables. It is something we consider important or valuable from which information or knowledge is derived.
Keeping data is critical back then since things were done manually and storage devices are not readily available. Paper documents, images or pictures once burned are lost forever.
